Winter Storage and Servicing

Competition Winner
What a summer it’s been! With plenty of sunshine, blue skies and some fantastic days out on the water, we’ve had no shortage of memorable moments to capture.
A big thank you to everyone who entered our Summer Photo Competition and shared a glimpse of their time on the water with us. We have had some great entries, but their can only be one winner.
Congratulations to the lucky winner, we loved this photo and felt like it summed up this summer perfectly. We will be in touch shortly to arrange the collection of your prize.
Our Summer Highlights
We have had a great summer at Rock Marine Services. Its been a busy season for the whole team, with lots happening both on and off the water. Here’s a look back at some of our highlights from the
season.
Royal Cornwall Show
In June, we attended the Royal Cornwall Show. We showcased a fantastic display of new boats and engines, ran an exclusive giveaway and had the opportunity to speak with so many members of the boating community.
We were also delighted to be awarded Third Prize for our Trade Stand.
Padstow to Rock Swim
In July, Jinx took on the annual Padstow to Rock swim, completing the challenge in great time and raising an incredible amount for Marie Curie.
Following the swim, Jinx was presented with the inaugural Mike Hewitt Award, a special recognition created in his father's memory.
RMS GUARDIAN
In mid July, we welcomed our new customer support boat, RMS Guardian, to the water.
Since launching, Guardian has already become a familiar sight on the Camel Estuary, helping customers and providing an extra helping hand when its needed. It has been a brilliant addition to the RMS fleet.
TRAINING CENTRE
August has been a particularly busy month, with our powerboat courses fully booked. We’ve been delighted to welcome so many students this year and see them leave as confident, qualified powerboat drivers.
Our sailing courses have also made a welcome return this summer. Its been great to welcome so many sailors back onto the water and see our new fleet of Hartley 12s and Wayfarers in action.
Take Your Boating Further
Are you ready to take your boating skills to the next level? The quieter months are a great time to build your knowledge and get prepared for the next season, with a range of RYA qualifications running through the Camel Powerboat Centre.
The RYA VHF Short Range Certificate (SRC) is an important step towards staying safe and confident afloat. The SRC is the minimum legal qualification required to operate a marine VHF radio, covering essential procedures including how to make distress, urgency and safety calls in an emergency.
We’ll also be running Yachtmaster Theory and Day Skipper courses, as well as opportunities to develop your practical powerboat handling skills.

Back To School Weekend Sailing
With schools heading back, the fun on the water doesn’t have to stop. Our Youth Sailing Sessions are running at weekends, giving young sailors the chance to get out on the water, build their confidence and enjoy some weekend sailing.
