Wadebridge, Cornwall, United Kingdom
1974 Drascombe Dabber sitting on a Nicholson breakback trailer with a 68LB electric motor.
The Dabber is the smallest boat in the Drascombe range, measuring 4.72 meters in length—compact enough to fit in the family garage yet big on performance. With plenty of stowage space and easy handling, the Dabber makes a fantastic family boat that is easily trailed and quickly rigged.Derived from traditional clinker-built boats, the Dabber boasts seaworthiness, easy rowing, and excellent shallow water capabilities. It's fitted with a handcrafted marine ply drop plate rudder, enhancing its manoeuvrability. Despite its size, the Dabber is surprisingly roomy, offering ample storage space. The foam buoyancy, a hallmark of all Drascombes, ensures the Dabber is unsinkable.
This boat comes with a mainsail, foresails, and mizzen, along with all sheets and stays. It includes two booms and spare mainsail and foresail. The Dabber features oiled oak cockpit floorboards and pine floorboards in the rear locker. The centreplate has been recently galvanised, and there's a fisherman’s anchor with 6 meters of 10mm chain and warp, as well as a green PVC cockpit cover.
